I was not in good mood lately by the recent case of the missing child william yau. I have been following his case on twitter and was deeply saddened by his departure couple of days back. A google search on the internet revealed too many missing child cases for the past few years. There are some happy ending but mostly not. What is happening to the world nowadays?
When I was young, I was allowed to play in front of the house without supervision. When we go to the malls, we can roam freely around on our own. But nowadays, after all these mind boggling news in our headlines every now and then, children nowadays just do not have the privilege to do the same anymore. I would say every parents have to watch over their children like a hawk.
When I was shopping at Aeon last week, I saw a mother pulling her toddler with backpack harness. I guess this would be the trend in the future with the rising trend of missing child in our country.

I would say now every parents have to be the hen protect their children against the hawk. Just to be extra careful and alert. We need to educate our child how to protect themselves too.
Yes, I keep reminding myself to hold my girls tight when I am out for shopping. We are all alerted by William’s news.
All parents must remember that incident, so that we can always remind ourselves to be extra careful when bringing our children out.
When such things happen, the blame is solely on the parents. What irresponsible parents we have these days! No need to pretend to cry when such things happen. I get so angry when I see such things happening…or the abandoning or dumping of babies as well.
Parenthood is a 100% commitment – not having children for the sake of having children….and once, one has children, one’s time is never one’s own anymore. If they cannot commit themselves, then don’t have children, end of story!!!
I agree, it’s the loss of “community policing” – where people used to look out for each other.
It’s still like that in some small towns but inevitably, globalization, immigration (including inter-national) and other factors has broken the “roots” of a community.
I’m of the opinion that KL is a root-less society, a city of transients.

Even teenagers are not safe. And our Home Minister had the gall to say Malaysia is one of the safest place in the world! (eyes rolled)
